In partnership with the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism (RAC), the Reform Movement's lobby located in the heart of the nation's capital, Mitzvah Corps DC is an 8-day program for high school students interested in Judaism, social justice, and advocacy.
Using Washington, DC as a learning laboratory, teens turn their passion into action by bringing their voices to Capitol Hill. The program exposes participants to a variety of public policy issues and teaches them skills to be an effective Jewish social justice advocate and leader. Together we will grapple with the tension between the ideal of Washington, a place of great potential to create justice, and the reality of the District of Columbia, where the gap between the city's rich and poor is ever-widening.
Living in George Washington University dorms, teens experience college style living, have the opportunity to tour DC-area university campuses, and explore the nation's capital, all while creating meaningful relationships with their peers from coast to coast!
